Practice Fees And Cancellation Policy

This is to inform our patients that as of 01/08/2022 Warilla Family Medical Practice will become a Mixed Billing Practice. There will be a $30:00 out of pocket cost for all patients between the age of 16- 65 years for all face-to-face consultations. All charges are subject to change without prior notice.

Procedures and Other Services:

Other services such as procedures, dressings, treatment room presentations, forms and transfer of records may incur additional costs. You will be informed of these in advance.

PLEASE NOTE: That for longer appointments or those with multiple issues the fee might be higher, and an appropriate appointment must be made. If you have questions, please do not hesitate to ask our friendly staff.

We ask that all accounts be paid at the time of your consultation. We have EFTPOS facilities available (debit and credit card).

If you have any concerns regarding these upcoming changes, please discuss with your treating doctor. Exceptions may be considered for special circumstances.

Registering Your Bank Details with Medicare:

For patient convenience, we offer electronic claiming, your claim will be sent to Medicare through a secure internet connection. Your Medicare benefit will be paid into the bank account registered with Medicare (subject to you having a valid/in date Medicare card).
To facilitate faster processing of rebates from Medicare please make sure that your bank
details are linked with Medicare.

Useful Medicare Links:

We offer bulk billing to patients that hold a valid Medicare or DVA card for the following services:

  • Routine Immunisations under the National Immunisation Program
  • Children under 16 years
  • Patients over 65 years
  • Patients eligible for closing the Gap program, once enrolled at the practice
  • Home medication reviews jointly with treating GP and regular pharmacist
  • Chronic disease management plan and reviews
  • Health assessments for chronic disease
  • COVID-19 vaccinations
  • Telephone consultations, for our regular patients seen at the practice at least once in the last 12 months

Cancellation Policy:

Management requests as a courtesy to both your doctor and patients that you provide 4 hours’ notice in the event you are unable to attend your appointment. Our practice has a cancellation list to allow patients in need to be allocated an appointment if one becomes available. Failure to provide 4 hours’ notice will result in cancellation charges.

If you need to cancel your appointment outside of normal business hours and have made your appointment online, please cancel your appointment through HotDoc. Appointments:

Please call 4297 1700 to make an appointment or book online using HotDoc.

Every effort will be made to accommodate your preferred time and choice of practitioner. If there are no vacancies with your usual GP, you will be offered the option of seeing another doctor.

If you require an urgent appointment or have a sick child, please advise the reception staff who will organise a same day appointment.

Walk-in patients:

If our GPs are fully booked and you are unwell, please phone our reception team and we will endeavour to cater to you as best we can. We do not turn away any sick patients so please respect this policy and use it only when you need medical treatment on the day. This policy does not apply to prescriptions, forms, medicals etc.

Management of Personal Health Information:

Your medical records are private and confidential, and only available to authorised members of staff. All information at Warilla Family Medical Practice is managed in accordance with the Health Records and Information Privacy Act 2002 (https://www.legislation.nsw.gov.au)

Fees:

If you do not have a valid Medicare card, you will need to pay. You will be issued a receipt to take to your local Medicare office to make a claim if you are entitled.

Medicals and insurance forms (eg. travel insurance, life insurance etc) will have a private fee.
Please call our reception team to discuss or see us at the practice to obtain your fee amount before booking with one of our GPs.
